Hey creators, welcome to my Clickfunnels vs Kajabi review.
Deciding between Kajabi and ClickFunnels isn’t as overwhelming as most reviewers make it seem. In this article, I’ll show you exactly which platform is better for your specific creator needs in a fast way (15 minutes or less) and bullshit-free.
Before writing this article, I dove into countless other reviews, videos, and third-party comparisons. What I found was DISTURBING.
Many reviewers claim to use both tools but clearly favor one over the other.
Even worse, I discovered most don’t even start a free trial before sharing their “expert” opinions. Their screenshots are outdated, and they seem more interested in earning affiliate commissions than helping you make the right choice.
I’ve over 7 years of experience in funnel building and course creation.
To make this review unbiased, I decided to test Clickfunnels and Kajabi extensively as a creator, online marketer, and small business owner in mind.
I have built funnels, created courses, membership sites, and communities, and tested every feature in different scenarios to know exactly which ones perform better in various business situations.
Here we go!
How Do I Test Clickfunnels And Kajabi?
Most reviewers say:
Kajabi is good for selling digital products and course creators, while Clickfunnels is good for businesses focused on funnel-driven sales and marketing.
It’s true, BUT not the whole picture, and potentially misleading.
Instead of BORING you with feature-by-feature comparisons, I’ve tested how each tool really helps creators in different situations.
Here’s the workflow most course creators and coaches need:
This comparison has two parts: First, I’ll show you how Clickfunnels and Kajabi handle building courses, memberships, communities, and funnel building.
Then I’ll break down their other features.
By understanding how each platform works, including its advantages and limitations, you can make the right choice for your specific business needs.
Round 1: Payment Management & Checkout Systems
Both Clickfunnels and Kajabi give you EVERYTHING you need to accept and manage payments online, such as:
- Credit cards
- PayPal
- Apple Pay
- Buy-now-pay-later options
- Invoicing
- Tax calculation
- and more.
Kajabi has a built-in payment gateway called Kajabi Payments that gives you everything you need in one place. It’s clean, simple, and streamlined.

In Clickfunnels, you need to connect with Payment AI as a middle tool.
While it offers the same payment options as Kajabi, Payment AI requires connecting with Stripe, PayPal, or other payment processors, which many creators find confusing and unnecessarily complex.
The silver lining?
Payment AI connects with Coinbase, allowing students to pay using crypto.

It also supports 200+ geographies, 100+ currencies, and 110+ payment types—perfect for building a global education business.

The problem with Kajabi Payments is that it’s only available for businesses registered in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and select European countries.
You’re limited to Stripe and PayPal integrations if you’re not in these regions.
Some reviewers claim Kajabi doesn’t take a percentage of revenue while Clickfunnels takes a 4.9% cut from every sale.
This is WRONG.
Neither platform takes a percentage from your sales beyond your subscription fee. Both pass along standard transaction fees from your payment gateway (Stripe, PayPal, etc.), which vary by country.

🏆 My Verdict:
Both platforms can help you accept and manage payments, but Kajabi connects more seamlessly and with less confusion than Clickfunnels, if you’re in a supported country.
Round 2: Kajabi vs ClickFunnels: Course Creation & Delivery
In this round, we compare how Kajabi and Clickfunnels help you create courses and memberships so you can decide which platform suits your teaching style.
How Easy Is It To Build A Course on Each Platform?
Both Clickfunnels and Kajabi allow you to organize your content logically with modules, sub-modules, and lessons. They also let you host videos and audio directly on their platforms and offer student certification.
Let’s start with Kajabi...
You can create four different types of digital products under one roof:
- Courses with videos, files, and assessments
- Podcasts with direct hosting
- Communities for member interaction
- Coaching programs with scheduling tools

Clickfunnels splits everything up.
Want a course? Use their course app. Need a community? That’s a separate app.

Clickfunnels doesn’t have a dedicated podcast feature at all.
While you can upload audio files and design your page to look like a podcast, the process is much more complicated and far less convenient than Kajabi’s purpose-built podcast functionality.
For live coaching, you’ll need to find third-party solutions like Zoom because Clickfunnels doesn’t natively support these formats.
Next, Kajabi’s course builder feels intuitive and offers remarkable flexibility for different lesson types.
You can create video lessons, audio content, or assessments to test your students’ knowledge—all vital for engaging learning experiences.

The platform lets students prove they understand your material through quizzes and file submissions – they can take tests and submit assignments showing their work.
Clickfunnels misses the mark here.
It doesn’t offer assessments or file uploads for students – features you need for interactive learning, where students demonstrate their understanding.

This limitation forces many creators to patch together solutions with third-party tools.
For file management, Kajabi integrates with Google Drive and Dropbox for easy cloud uploads.

Clickfunnels lacks these direct connections.
👍 Both platforms handle one thing well: Controlling how students progress through your course by locking or scheduling lessons. Students need to finish one lesson before moving to the next, helping ensure they complete the course in the proper order.
The course creation workflow reveals another key difference.
Kajabi lets you create a course seamlessly by adding your price during the initial setup.

With Clickfunnels, you create the course first, then create a separate product, set the price, and connect them – an extra step that complicates what should be simple.

🏆 My Verdict:
If building comprehensive digital products is central to your business, Kajabi’s unified approach saves you hours of technical headaches. Clickfunnels works, but forces you to manage multiple systems to achieve what Kajabi offers in one place.
Scenario #1: Standard/Basic Courses
For basic courses – where customers pay and get access to all video lessons and materials – both Clickfunnels and Kajabi pass with flying colors.
Their course builders are quite similar, helping you structure content into logical sections that improve the learning experience. For simple course delivery, either platform will serve you well.
Scenario #2: Drip/lock content
Drip courses release content on a schedule – like a 30-day keto challenge where members get one lesson per day, or a 5-day email marketing challenge that unlocks content progressively.
For this test, I separated two scenarios
- Unlocking new videos each day
- Unlocking new modules when students pass lessons, quizzes, or assessments.
In the first scenario, both Clickfunnels and Kajabi work great. You can easily set content to release on specific days.
Here’s an overview of what Clickfunnels Drip looks like.

Kajabi does better by allowing you to configure when Drip modules become available to your customers.

In the second scenario, Kajabi shines by allowing you to create segments that unlock new lessons when students pass a quiz or assessment.
Clickfunnels lacks assessment features, so you’d need to manually unlock content for students who pass external tests – a huge burden as your student base grows.
For simple progression based on lesson completion, Clickfunnels works fine, but it can’t match Kajabi’s conditional unlocking based on assessment performance.
Scenario #3: Course Has Upselling
Sometimes you want to give away free training or the first few video lessons, then upsell students on the complete course.
Clickfunnels excels here.
Their Perfect Webinar Secrets is a perfect example.
When someone learns inside the membership area, they can see additional courses like the 10X Secrets Masterclass or the Closing Secrets Masterclass.

They’re directed to a sales page when they click on these modules.

If they purchase, the new lessons unlock automatically in the same environment – no need to grant access to a separate area.
I couldn’t find this seamless in-course upselling feature in Kajabi, making Clickfunnels the clear winner for creators who want to build an ascension model within their courses.
Scenario #4: Membership Sites
A membership site is a password-protected area where subscribers get exclusive access to content, community, or both, usually with recurring payments.
Membership sites are crucial for creators because they provide predictable recurring revenue and foster deeper connections with your audience through ongoing engagement.
There are two main types of membership sites:
- Course-based memberships with drip content
- Community-based memberships.
Both Clickfunnels and Kajabi allow you to build membership sites with various payment setups: free, one-time payment, multiple payments, or recurring subscription.
Both Clickfunnels and Kajabi membership sites work perfectly for membership sites.
The difference lies in the potential each platform offers.
I’ve already covered the basic content course functionality above.
Next, we’ll investigate how Kajabi and Clickfunnels handle community creation – a critical component of many successful membership sites.
Round 3: Kajabi Vs. Clickfunnels For Creating Communities
Both Kajabi and Clickfunnels offer community features that help you create groups and topics, creating interactive spaces where your audience can connect, share content, and engage in meaningful discussions.
In Clickfunnels, you can create 3 types of groups in your community:
- Open: Anyone in your Community can see and join this Group.
- Private: Members can only be added by you or by purchasing through your Upgrade URL. Lock screen visible to all members.
- Secrets: Members can only be added by you or by purchasing through your Upgrade URL. Is not visible to non-members.

This tiered approach gives Clickfunnels users solid flexibility for creating different membership levels and exclusive spaces.
The community features are functional for basic engagement, allowing members to post, comment, and interact with each other.
Kajabi, however, has taken community features to a WHOLE new level.
After acquiring Vibely, they’ve added TONS of cool community features that have transformed their platform.
It’s now up there with major dedicated community platforms like Circle and Mighty Networks – a serious upgrade from their previous basic offering.
Kajabi offers extensive customization options:
- Updated sidebar and menus
- Reorderable access groups, custom pages, and circles
- Resizable sidebar
- Expanded search functionality
- Branded colors
- Dark/light mode toggle

What really sets Kajabi apart is its Gamification feature. This brilliant addition lets you reward engagement with points, badges, and leaderboards.

I’ve seen firsthand how this transforms passive members into active participants – members start posting more, commenting more, and creating more connections within your community.
The system works by assigning point values to specific actions like:
- Creating new posts
- Commenting on content
- Reacting to others’ posts
- Completing specific learning paths or modules
Members can see their progress and compare themselves on leaderboards, creating friendly competition that drives engagement. You can even customize badges for specific achievements that showcase member milestones.
For course creators, Kajabi’s gamification system solves one of the biggest challenges in online education—keeping students motivated and active.
When students feel recognized for their participation, they’re far more likely to complete your course and remain active community members.
🏆 My Verdict:
Clickfunnels offers basic community features that work fine, but Kajabi delivers a knockout community experience that members truly love. With slick gamification, beautiful branding, and engagement tools that keep people coming back daily, Kajabi’s community features rival even dedicated platforms. For creators serious about building a loyal, active tribe that feels like family, Kajabi’s community tools simply crush the competition.
Round 4: Sales Funnels & Landing Pages: Which Platform Performs Better?
In Clickfunnels, you have three methods to build your funnel:
- Smart Funnel Builder (AI)
- Using templates
- Starting from scratch.
I personally use their templates with some customization. Clickfunnels gives you 14 types of funnels with pre-designed templates.

What I love about Clickfunnels is that each funnel type comes with video training explaining what the funnel is, the strategy behind it, and how to build it with Clickfunnels.

This is incredibly valuable for beginners who need guidance on funnel strategy, not just the technical aspects.
Their templates are modern and designed specifically for each funnel type, rather than generic landing pages repurposed for different contexts.

Clickfunnels also includes a test mode so you can walk through your entire funnel as a guest before launching it. They even provide test credit card numbers you can use to make sure your payment process works perfectly.

Kajabi also offers funnel building, but it’s more basic compared to Clickfunnels, with fewer funnel templates available.

In Clickfunnels, you create your funnel and email sequences in separate places.
Kajabi takes a different approach by letting you build both funnels and email sequences in the same place, which makes it easier to see your entire sales process at once.

Both platforms provide visual funnel flows that help you see the entire sales process, but Clickfunnels shows you essential stats directly in the flow view – no need to leave the page to check analytics.
You can also create A/B testing in Clickfunnels or split your workflow into two paths based on set conditions, giving you more control over your customer journey.

Clickfunnels also lets you share your entire sales funnel with just one click, which is super helpful when working with clients or team members.
I love both platforms’ page builders, but Clickfunnels has the edge.
Both use drag-and-drop editors that make it easy even for non-designers, but Clickfunnels offers more element widgets and feels easier to use.
The sidebar navigation makes it easy to move between funnel steps
What really speeds up my workflow is that Clickfunnels lets multiple team members edit pages at the same time (like Google Docs), and they provide pre-designed section templates for different purposes so you don’t have to build everything from scratch.

Round 5: Kajabi Vs. Clickfunnels In Email Marketing & Automation Features
You can handle all your email marketing in both Clickfunnels and Kajabi without needing other tools – but they tackle it differently.
Clickfunnels makes you create broadcast emails through their Email App.

When you need follow-up sequences, you’ll have to build them inside the automation workflow.

Kajabi simplifies things by letting you create both email sequences and broadcasts in one place.

You can also build your email follow-ups directly in the funnel flow. This makes Kajabi less confusing and complicated than Clickfunnels.
I personally stick with plain text emails with zero design elements.
But if you want professional, graphic-rich emails, don’t worry – both platforms offer drag & drop email builders. You can easily design your emails exactly how you want them to look and save them as templates for future use.

Kajabi wins the template battle with more options and better designs than Clickfunnels.
They even include pre-written email copy in all their templates. You can customize this copy or scrap it completely, but it saves you time when you need tested copy that converts.
Both platforms power up your campaigns with automation rules like “when someone clicks an email, add a tag and send a message” or “when a user opts in, enroll them in your free course.”
Clickfunnels offers a Pipeline feature (they call it “Opportunity”).

This helps you sell high-ticket coaching, B2B services, or other premium offerings.
When someone completes your application form, you can automatically add them to your sales pipeline and send a welcome message. Then your team can schedule a call with them. Kajabi doesn’t include this sales pipeline feature.
Clickfunnels falls short by not offering email A/B testing, while Kajabi makes this easy.

Of course, you could test in Clickfunnels using Automation Workflow split tests, but that’s not ideal for emails.
Clickfunnels Vs Kajabi: Other Features Breakdown
We’ve covered the essential features creators need most, but that’s not the whole story.
Let’s compare the other important tools these platforms share. These additional features could be the tiebreaker in your decision between Clickfunnels and Kajabi.
Website, Blog & SEO Capabilities
Both Clickfunnels and Kajabi help you create professional-looking sites with multiple pages, navigation, and blogs—no coding required!
Think stunning websites without the technical headaches.
But for complex layouts or dynamic content?
WordPress still dominates (though let’s be honest, most of us don’t need that level of complexity).
I personally prefer Clickfunnels’ website builder.
Their Universal Section feature lets you create elements once that update automatically across your entire site.

HUGE time-saver!
Their drag-and-drop blog editor shows exactly how your post will look while creating it.

Kajabi, on the other hand, uses an editor similar to Google Docs or WordPress’s classic editor.
Not terrible, but definitely not as intuitive.

Clickfunnels’ built-in Short Links feature is another gem that tracks link performance and automatically updates all links if URLs change.

Remember manually updating dozens of affiliate links? (Pure nightmare fuel!)
The SEO Reality Check
Can these platforms rank on Google? Absolutely!
I’ve seen it happen
But as an SEO guy, I don’t recommend either for serious SEO-focused content. They lack technical customization, such as:
- Canonical
- Schema Makeup
- 301 Redirect
- Custom sitemap (e.g, news sitemap, video sitemap, etc)
⚠️ One CRITICAL warning: Both platforms use yourdomain.com/blog/article-name URLs. If your current blog uses yourdomain.com/article-name, migrating without proper redirects could tank your rankings.
Analytics and Reporting
Kajabi’s analytics dashboard is like your business command center.
You can see your money coming in, who’s buying your stuff, and exactly when they’re pulling out their credit cards.
The dashboard throws all your critical numbers in your face – total revenue, site visitors, subscriber counts – so you don’t have to go digging for what matters.

Have you ever felt lost trying to figure out if your business is actually growing? This dashboard solves that problem instantly!
Kajabi lets you check:
- Which products are your cash cows
- How people are finding your digital doorstep
- Your hottest pages (and the ghost towns)
- Where your customers live around the globe
Clickfunnels, on the other hand, is ALL about those sales funnels.
Their analytics show you exactly where people bail on your sales process.

Ever wonder why people aren’t buying? This tells you!
The absolute COOLEST thing about Clickfunnels is their Live View feature.

You can literally watch people move through your funnel in real-time. It’s like being a spy in your own store (without the cool gadgets)!
From my experience, Kajabi shines when you want the big health check on your entire business, especially for courses. Clickfunnels is your go-to when you need to fix conversion problems and optimize your sales process.
Affiliate Management
Let’s start with Kajabi.
Their affiliate system is pretty solid BUT – and this is a BIG but – you’ll need to shell out for their Growth ($199/mo) or Pro ($399/mo) plans to even access it.
Talk about keeping the good stuff behind the velvet rope!
Once you’re in, though, their system tracks everything neatly and gives affiliates a decent dashboard.
I like how they make it easy to see which affiliates are bringing in the most sales, but wish they didn’t hide this feature behind their pricier plans.
Kajabi does have some nice touches:
- Clean affiliate registration process
- Easy-to-understand reporting
- Simple commission tracking
ClickFunnels, however, makes affiliate management available across their plans. The setup process is straightforward – I literally had mine running in under 20 minutes!
You can create custom commission plans, generate instant affiliate links after registration, and make specific products commissionable.
Not too shabby for someone who’s not exactly a tech wizard (raising my hand here)!
🏆 My Verdict:
ClickFunnels is a winner. You get more affiliate management tools at a lower price compared to Kajabi.
Integrations
No “all-in-one” platform is truly all-in-one – a lesson many learn too late.
With Clickfunnels’ 69 integrations, you can keep your marketing funnels but plug in better email marketing as you scale.

Kajabi only works with about 15.
This massive difference matters more than you might think.

Both platforms claim to handle everything – email marketing, CRM, landing pages, and more.
But here’s the reality: their built-in tools are good, NOT great. They handle basics well but lack the power of specialized solutions.
As your business grows, you’ll hit walls:
- Your email needs become more complex
- You need deeper analytics
- Your CRM requirements get more sophisticated
- You want to use specialized tools for your industry
That’s when integrations become gold. With Clickfunnels’ broader connection options, you can keep your funnel structure but plug in better email marketing tools, more powerful CRMs, or specialized payment processors as needed.
Both platforms connect with Zapier, which helps bridge gaps, but native integrations are FASTER, more RELIABLE, and don’t ADD EXTRA COST.
Think of platform integration options like buying a house.
Kajabi is a nice starter home with limited expansion potential. Clickfunnels is a property with room to grow in any direction.
I’ve seen businesses painfully rebuild their entire marketing systems because they outgrew their platform’s capabilities. The cost in lost time, momentum, and sometimes even customers is brutal.
More integrations mean more freedom to adapt without technology becoming your bottleneck.
Pricing Breakdown: Which Platform Offers Better Value?
Kajabi and Clickfunnels might seem close in starter pricing, but looks can be deceiving.
Kajabi starts at $89/month while Clickfunnels begins at $97/month.
Just $8 difference, right?
Not so fast.
That $89 Kajabi plan handcuffs you to just 250 contacts. No custom domain. No connecting your other tools.
It’s like buying a car without wheels or an engine.
Want something actually usable from Kajabi?
You’ll need to jump to their $149/month Basic plan. This gets you 10,000 contacts, custom domain, and the ability to connect other tools.
Still missing? Advanced automations – the stuff that makes real money while you sleep.
For all the good features Kajabi offers, you’re looking at their $199/month Growth plan. That’s DOUBLE the Clickfunnels starter price!
Meanwhile, Clickfunnels gives you EVERYTHING in their $97/month plan:
- Unlimited funnels
- Unlimited courses
- Unlimited contacts
- Unlimited pages
- Unlimited domains.
No artificial caps on your business growth.
The only real difference between Clickfunnels’ $97 Startup and $297 Pro plans? Team access and workspaces. If you’re flying solo or have a small team, you don’t need the Pro plan.
This pricing strategy reveals everything about how these companies see you.
Kajabi nickel-and-dimes you as you grow, making you pay more for basic business needs. Clickfunnels hands you the keys to the kingdom right from the start.
🏆 My Verdict:
For solo creators, small business owners, and marketers, the math is simple: Clickfunnels’ $97 plan delivers far more value than even Kajabi’s $199 plan. Why pay twice as much for less freedom?
Compare Clickfunnels and Kajabi Support
Let me break down the customer support situation between these two popular platforms in a way that actually helps you make a decision!
Kajabi’s 24/7 chat support sounds amazing, but watch out!
You only get this round-the-clock help if you pay $199/month for their Growth plan. If you’re on the Basic plan, you’re stuck with email support, just like Clickfunnels users.

I’ve scrolled through countless reviews where people either love or hate the support from both companies. Some users complain about waiting forever for responses, while others rave about quick solutions.
In my personal testing, I haven’t encountered any major support disasters with either one.
Both platforms have active user groups where you can often get faster answers than through official channels.
I’ve found these communities incredibly valuable when I needed quick troubleshooting tips or strategy advice at odd hours.
No matter which self-help resources you choose, you’ll find extensive knowledge bases, video tutorials, and regular training webinars.
I particularly like Kajabi’s organized documentation, though Clickfunnels has really stepped up its game recently.
My Verdict:
Don’t choose between these platforms based on support alone – they’re essentially tied in this department. Your experience will depend more on what specific problems you run into rather than which platform you’re using. Focus instead on which platform’s features better match your business needs!
What Are the Advantages of Clickfunnels Over Kajabi?
Now, beyond everything we’ve already compared with the two companies above, let’s dig into what makes Clickfunnels truly outstanding compared to Kajabi.
While both platforms handle the basics well, Clickfunnels offers some unique capabilities that give it a distinct edge for certain business models and creator types.
1. Clickfunnels Offers More Marketing Tools Than Kajabi Help You Maximize Your Revenue
ClickFunnels gives you powerful marketing tools that Kajabi just doesn’t have. Here’s what you get:
- MessageHub: This centralized communication system lets you chat with customers in real-time, providing instant support and answering questions without leaving the platform. This immediacy dramatically improves conversion rates by addressing objections right when they arise – no more losing sales because a prospect couldn’t get a quick answer.
- Store: Sell all your stuff in one place – digital courses, physical products, and services. You won’t need extra software or complicated setups. This saves you time and money while making shopping easier for your customers.
- Appointment: Let clients book time with you directly through your website. The system connects to your calendar and meeting tools automatically. This eliminates the frustrating back-and-forth of scheduling and helps you fill your calendar with more paying clients.
- Countdown Funnels: This is far more powerful than a simple countdown widget. Clickfunnels’ system creates true personalized scarcity based on when each individual visitor first sees your offer. When someone visits on Monday, they might see “3 days left” – and when they return on Thursday, the discount is genuinely gone. This true evergreen scarcity can increase conversion rates by 30% or more compared to fake timers that reset for everyone.
- Opportunities: Track your potential customers through your sales process with visual pipelines. You can see exactly where each lead stands and manage them easily. This helps your team follow up with the right people at the right time, leading to more closed deals.
All these tools work together to help you convert more visitors into buyers at every step. With instant communication, real limited-time offers, and smart lead tracking, you’ll make more money from the same amount of traffic.
2. You Can Custom Branding In ANY Plan
You know that little “Powered by ClickFunnels” badge sitting on your page?

The one that doubles as your affiliate link?
While some folks love it as a passive income stream, many of us serious creators want our pages to look 100% professional without another company’s logo stealing attention.
The good news is: Clickfunnels lets you ditch that badge on ANY plan. Yes, even the basic $97/month Starter plan gives you complete branding control!

Kajabi?
They force you to upgrade to their $199/month Growth Plan before they’ll let you remove their branding.

That’s more than double what you’d pay with Clickfunnels for the same professional look.
This difference hits hard when you’re building a legit brand on a tight budget.
Think about it – you’re asking people to trust you with their hard-earned cash. Having some random company’s logo on your pages screams “amateur hour” and chips away at your credibility.
Clickfunnels gets this.
They give you total brand control from day one without forcing you into premium plans. You present as a professional immediately, not after you’ve “earned” the right by paying more.
For new creators watching every dollar while building something impressive, this single feature makes Clickfunnels the obvious choice. Your brand, your rules, at a price point that actually makes sense.
3. Clickfunnels Allow You to Share Your Business In Click
Clickfunnels lets you share complete funnels with just one click.

But they’ve taken it further with Frameworks.
You can now package your entire business setup – all your funnels, themes, courses, email sequences, and workflows – and share everything in one go.
Watch the video below to understand how Clickfunnels’ Framework works.
For agencies, this changes everything.
You create client solutions once and deploy them over and over, massively boosting your efficiency. You stop wasting time rebuilding the same structures and start focusing on what clients really pay you for – customization and strategy.
For creators working with teams, Frameworks solves a huge security headache.
You hire specialists to build specific parts of your business without giving away the keys to your kingdom. When they finish, they share only their piece back to you. Your sensitive info stays protected, and contractors can’t access your payment details or customer data.
Picture this: a team builds your entire course business – from funnels to membership areas to email sequences – and transfers everything to you with one click. No account access worries. No risk of someone messing with your setup. No complicated handoff process.
This one feature saves you thousands in development costs and eliminates countless troubleshooting headaches.
4. Team Collaboration
Clickfunnels’ real-time collaboration features transform teamwork. For example, multiple team members can edit the same page simultaneously, just like Google Docs.

Someone can build the landing page structure while another writes sales copy, and a manager can leave comments with revision requests.
The practical benefits are enormous:
- Time Savings: No more sending screenshots back and forth or waiting for one person to finish before another can start. Changes happen in real-time, cutting project timelines in half.
- Improved Quality: With instant feedback, your team can refine content immediately. This iterative process produces better results than the traditional linear approach.
- Reduced Miscommunication: When everyone sees changes in real-time, there’s less room for confusion about what needs to be done. Comments attached directly to elements ensure everyone understands exactly what’s being requested.
Even on the starter plan, you can add three team members (four including yourself), which is plenty for most small businesses.
This collaborative environment makes Clickfunnels particularly valuable for agencies, partnerships, and creators working with virtual assistants.
What Are the Advantages of Kajabi Over Clickfunnels?
While Clickfunnels excels in marketing tools, Kajabi brings its own powerful advantages that make it superior for certain types of creators and business models.
1. Live Video Lessons & Event Hosting
Kajabi lets you create live video sessions directly on the platform – no external tools or complicated setups required. These sessions automatically record and upload to your content library, making them instantly available for on-demand viewing.

This feature revolutionizes how coaches and educators deliver content.
Instead of using Zoom, then downloading the recording, editing it, uploading to a hosting service, and finally embedding it in your course – Kajabi handles the entire process automatically.
For creators who rely on live teaching, this seamless workflow saves hours each week and creates a more professional experience for students.
They never have to leave your platform to join a live session, reducing technical issues and increasing participation rates.
Clickfunnels offers no equivalent feature.
You’d need to use Zoom or another video platform and manually add recordings to your membership area after each session – a time-consuming process that interrupts your workflow and creates friction for students.
2. Mobile App for Branded Student Experience
Kajabi offers the ability to create your own branded mobile app where customers can access all your content in one convenient place. They can sign up for courses, engage with your community, book coaching sessions, and purchase new products – all through an app with your branding.
This transforms the student experience in several key ways:
- Increased Engagement: Mobile apps generate 3x more engagement than web experiences. Students can watch your content during commutes, workouts, or anytime they have a few minutes free.
- Brand Authority: Having your own app instantly elevates your brand perception. You’re no longer just another website – you’re a premium experience worthy of valuable phone real estate.
- Reduced Distractions: Unlike web browsers with multiple tabs and notifications, your app creates a focused learning environment where students can fully immerse in your content.
Imagine a weight loss coach creating an app where clients can access workout videos, meal plans, community support, and progress tracking all in one place. Rather than sending them to multiple websites or tools, everything is contained in a branded experience they can access anytime.
This feature requires an additional $199/month on any Kajabi plan, but for the right business model, the increased engagement and retention can deliver an exceptional ROI.
3. Customize The Certification for Your Course

While both platforms offer certificates, Kajabi’s certification system is far more flexible and professional.
You can fully customize your certificate design with background colors, expiration dates, and custom text. You can even use your own certificate templates created in other software.

What truly sets Kajabi apart is its certificate delivery options.
Clickfunnels only awards certificates when students complete 100% of the course, which isn’t always ideal. Sometimes you want more stringent requirements to maintain the value of your certification.
With Kajabi, you can award certificates when students:
- Complete your entire course
- Pass an assessment with a minimum score
- Complete a specific key lesson
- Pass a quiz with a minimum score

You can even manually issue certificates for special circumstances.
This flexibility makes your certificates more meaningful and valuable. A certification that requires demonstrating actual knowledge through assessments carries more weight than one awarded simply for clicking through all lessons.
For professional educators, coaches teaching specialized skills, or anyone offering continuing education, Kajabi’s advanced certification system helps maintain the integrity and value of your credentials.
When Should You Choose Kajabi Over ClickFunnels?
Kajabi is the best for creators prioritizing the learning experience and needing advanced course delivery options.
- If you want to create live coaching experiences, Kajabi makes this seamless.
- If you need quizzes and assessments to validate learning, Kajabi has these tools built in.
- If you want a branded mobile app to keep students engaged, only Kajabi offers this option.
Many reviews claim Kajabi is less funnel-focused, suggesting that Clickfunnels is the only choice for serious marketers.
I disagree.
Kajabi creators have generated over $5 billion in earnings, averaging $37,000 per year. Clearly, they’re successfully selling online!
In fact, most creators only need two types of funnels to build a six-figure business:
- Lead magnet funnel: Opt-in and thank you page
- Video sales letter funnel: VSL, order form with order bump, upsell, downsell, thank you page, and membership access.
Kajabi handles these perfectly.
Choose Kajabi if your business’s core is delivering premium learning experiences, coaching, or community-based memberships.
Yes, it’s more EXPENSIVE than Clickfunnels, but the investment pays off in higher student satisfaction, completion rates, and lifetime value.
When Does ClickFunnels Make More Sense for Your Business?
Clickfunnels is the better choice for several specific business scenarios.
First, it’s simply cheaper than Kajabi, helping you save money while you’re growing. Plus, Clickfunnels allows unlimited courses on all plans, while Kajabi’s Basic plan limits you to just 3 products.
While Clickfunnels may not match Kajabi’s course features, it’s entirely adequate for most creators.
Most students just need organized video content with easy navigation – Clickfunnels delivers this perfectly.
Do you really need all of Kajabi’s bells and whistles?
If not, why pay extra?
Where Clickfunnels truly excels is in its marketing tools.
- Their survey/quiz funnels help you generate targeted leads easily.
- Their countdown funnels create genuine urgency that boosts conversions.
- Their opportunity pipelines turn online leads into high-ticket sales by connecting your digital marketing with your sales team.
For agencies and teams, Clickfunnels’ collaborative features save enormous time. Having your entire team work on the same page simultaneously eliminates the constant back-and-forth of traditional design processes.
Give Clickfunnels a try if you’re just starting out, have a tight budget, need unlimited products, or if your strength is in marketing rather than course creation. It gives you a powerful marketing engine with enough course functionality for most needs.
When You Should NOT Use Both?
After 7+ years in digital marketing and funnel building, I’ve identified specific situations where neither Kajabi nor Clickfunnels is the right choice.
For complete beginners with limited marketing knowledge and tight budgets, spending $100+ monthly on either platform can quickly drain resources before you’ve built an audience or proven your offer.
You simply don’t have the marketing skills yet to make the investment worthwhile.
If you’re just starting out, consider Systeme.io instead.
Their free plan includes 3 sales funnels, unlimited emails, 2,000 contacts, and one course – enough to build your first business with minimal risk.
Their paid plans start at just $27/month, roughly 3x cheaper than Clickfunnels or Kajabi.

Similarly, if you’re an influencer (YouTuber, TikToker, etc.) who wants to monetize your audience without learning marketing or business operations, these platforms may be overkill.
You just want a simple way for fans to pay you and access your content.
In this case, consider Skool, which lets you create community spaces and courses with minimal setup.
People join your community, you provide value, and Skool handles payments directly to your bank account – no complex marketing or business structures required.
Conclusion
Thanks for reading my Kajabi vs Clickfunnels review!
For those who skipped to the end:
While many people say “Kajabi for courses, and Clickfunnels for funnel building,” the reality is more nuanced. Kajabi can build effective sales funnels, and Clickfunnels can deliver good courses.
Start by identifying which course features you absolutely need. Sometimes, the basic features of Clickfunnels are entirely sufficient, SAVING you significant money.
If you need live coaching, assessments, quizzes, or a mobile app, Kajabi is your best option.
Don’t stress too much about funnel capabilities – while Kajabi lacks some of Clickfunnels’ specialized marketing tools, it handles the most common funnel types that drive revenue.
Finally, if you’re starting out with a limited budget and marketing skills or if you’re simply an influencer looking to monetize, consider alternatives like Systeme.io or Skool until you’re ready for these more powerful platforms.
